Valley of the Kings in Color

This is another of my favorite Robert Taylor flicks.  It’s not great art, just a solid adventure story from 1954 with a cast led by old pros Taylor and Eleanor Parker. The photography is admirable with many scenes filmed at important Egyptian archaeological sites. Mr. Taylor and Ms. Parker had tremendous chemistry. The clinch in the tent is a Taylor classic. Thoroughly enjoyable.

    Hi Judith,
This one is another winner, yes. I agree with you in that it’s not great art at all, but it really is top rated entertainment with stunning photography. I can’t even remember how many times I’ve watched it in 20 years and it never bored me, though I guess the chemistry between Bob and Eleanor, which has been remarkable from “Above and Beyond” to “Many Rivers to Cross” plays a big part.
